Song - A week

59

By Stigma31

I wrote this when someone I really cared about was gone for a week. It brought up a lot of feelings from a longtime ago. I know she will probably never see this but I dedicate this to Rebecca.

A Week

A Week

I can’t believe a weeks gone by,

With you not in my life.

All I really know,

Is it just don’t feel right.

All I keep on hearing,

Are the last words that you said.

Don’t really feel like sleeping,

Looking at an empty bed.

(Chorus)

A week’s gone by without you,

A week of falling tears.

I can’t believe you’re gone,

It’s hard to look in mirrors.

A week’s gone by without you,

I’ve been counting every day.

If only we talked some more,

Maybe you would stay.

(End chorus)

I remember all the good days,

Keep thinking of our past.

Never thought I be without you,

Always thought we would last.

I keep remembering the days

That we would dance and sing.

The first time that I met you,

When I gave you the engagement ring.

(Chorus)

I never betrayed your love,

You were always in my heart.

Still I think it was my fault,

That we started growing apart

All the times out with the boys,

Hours of drinking beers.

Even though I was half drunk,

I could still smell the tears.

(Chorus)

I don’t know how to say I love you.

I don’t know how to say I care.

I don’t know how to say I miss you,

I’m always hoping you are there.

My dreams riddled with your image.

In my heart I can see your soul.

I am fighting to find the courage,

To tell you’re the one that make me whole.

(New Chorus)

A week’s gone by without you,

A week of falling tears.

I can’t believe you’re gone,

It’s hard to look in mirrors.

A week’s gone by without you,

Maybe it’s not too late.

I will promise you the world,

If you will clean the slate.

Thanks Ledtoolz, despite the final verse it was way too late, but it felt good to write the song.
